The Bathgate and District Flower Club is a friendly volunteer community club for people who enjoy flowers and the art of Flower Arranging. During the 2016 /2017 we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the club being formed in September 1965.
The club meet on the 3rd Monday of each month between September and June in the EU Church Hall, Marjoriebanks Street, Bathgate. A demonstration of floral art with a different theme each month is presented by qualified demonstrators from NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arranging Societies) which are raffled off at the end of the evening's presentation. Every Year an Open Night, which is open to friends and guests, is held in November with a highly experienced demonstrator. In March the starting month of the Club 48 years ago, a luncheon is held at a local hotel - again with a presentation by a top demonstrator.
In 2010 and again in 2011 the club entered the Floral Art Competition at Gardening Scotland and were delighted to win Gold on both occasions. The exhibits was designed by Julie Wark and Shirley Henderson We are currently working on an exhibit for Ayr Flower Show and wish the team of Julie Wark, Nan Tait and Isabel Hamilton every success.
Our Club Aim is to encourage interest in the art of flower arrangement and in the educational , cultural and charitable aspects of it.
